Puppy-raising

Mobility Dogs is currently looking for suitable puppy-raising homes.  Our puppy-raisers are an integral part of the success of our organisation. The role of a puppy-raiser is to provide the puppy with love, care, basic obedience, general socialisation and confidence during the first 12-14 months.

The responsibilities of a puppy-raiser include:

  • providing a warm, secure, fenced home environment for the puppy to develop and learn in
  • providing company throughout most of the day
  • regular feeding and care of the puppy
  • exercising and training the puppy
  • attending classes and outings arranged by Mobility Dogs

Mobility Dogs provides continuing assistance and guidance to puppy-raisers through Puppy Classes and home visits.

We also provide:

  • food, veterinary care and Council registration
  • equipment
  • ongoing support

Meet some Mobility Dogs puppy-raisers in the Southern Lakes District and read about their experiences.

If you are interested, please fill out the puppy-raising form, and we'll contact you to discuss this further.
