Where in the world is Mobility Dog Mondo?

Be sure to pack your bags and be quick to make a reservation for one of the remaining Mondo Travel Tasting Lounge events, raising funds for Mobility Dogs puppy Mondo. This latest concept from innovative travel company Mondo Travel, headed up by MasterChef NZ's Brett McGregor and MC’d by the very talented (and sometimes outrageous) Jackie Clarke, is proving very popular.  These pop-up restaurants at Marvel Grill in Auckland's Wynyard Quarter feature culinary delights themed to various travel destinations; a marvellous way to spend the last Monday night of every month.  All three courses are complemented with wines donated by Whitehaven.

Mondo visits Mondo Remuera on Autumn Market Day

The first event in February treated diners to cuisine from Australia’s New South Wales.  In March our gastronomy adventure took us to Tahiti. We were treated to a collaboration of dishes by Brett and top Chef Robert Oliver, author of, 'Me’a Kai: The Foods and Flavours of South Pacific.'  Not only did we get to enjoy the delicious fusion of French and Polynesian flavours, but we were also entertained by Tahitian dancers and a band which made for a night full of fun, colour and flare. As with Destination New South Wales a trip for two was auctioned for charity, with one diner walking away with an amazing package for a five day stay in beautiful Tahiti.

Puppy in training, Mondo, is the canine star of the evening, with ambassadog Chance in a supporting role. 

The next two months of Tasting Lounge events see Western Australia in May and the holiday alternative of Cruising in June.

These evenings are a wonderful opportunity to not only sample dishes inspired by some of Brett’s favourite culinary destinations, but also to raise awareness of Mobility Dogs and the work the Trust does in the community assisting people with disabilities.
